If you don't havr yours you can download it here: http://www.fordservicecontent.com/Ford_Content/catalog/owner_guides/14focom1e.pdf TRUNK RELEASE With the Remote Control Press twice within three seconds. From Inside Your Vehicle (If Equipped) Press the button located on the instrument panel. From Outside Your Vehicle Press the release button above the license plate to unlatch the trunk. Your vehicle must be unlocked or have the intelligent access transmitter within 3 feet (1 meter) of the trunk.

I can open the trunk just fine, but the lid will not stay opened for me to get my groceries out.
