when the yukon 2004 is not cranked it shows no oil an when you crank it .it shows the right oil level

are you talking about on the dipstick or a pressure gauge

you never check the oil when the engine is running, it will always give you a false reading, you need to have the engine off, take the dipstick out wipe it, put it back in, and then check it, and it never hurts to check it more than once

I check it off an it shows no oil on the dip stick an I just change it no leaks at all it did read low when I change it an it show fell of I crank it

Did you put all 6 quarts in? The oil is going somewhere. You are supposed to check it with the motor off. If it's running it gives a higher reading
