2000 Sonoma 2.2 liter 5 SD

Was driving 40 mph then it stop running like
if some one unplugged the car check gas
gage showed gas  quarter tank . towed
home put around 8-10 gallons of gas for
now gage showed empty truck still won't
start.it cranks but sounds like no spark help

You may have lost power to the fuel pump by the sounds of it. Your gas gauge is not reading which comes from the sending unit in the gas tank. Check some fuses, and the fuel pump relay.

Relays are all pretty common. Find the one for the fuel pump and pull it out. Look for another relay with the same number of prongs on it and plug it into the fuel pump circuit. Turn the key to on and listen for the fuel pump to run if you can hear it or not.
