why would my power steering light come on?

Asked by Amanda Aug 03, 2024 at 08:30 PM about the 2015 Chevrolet Equinox 2LT AWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

i have a 2015 Chevy Equinox and the power steering light came on all of
sudden today. I was driving and pulled into a yard and went to back out it
didn't want to move then I put it back in neutral and then back in Reverse
and it backed out. then I put it in drive and it acted like it didn't want to go but
once it got started it went. The stabilize warning light stayed on. I also
noticed that my dash lights and speed odometer wasn't working on  my way
home. What could be the problem? I cant pay for a lot of mechanic work. I
know it is going to have to go the Chevy dealership.

I agree with ED, sounds like low voltage. This vehicle is old enough that you no longer need a dealer to check it out, a good independent shop can do it. Unless you have a warranty that states that you need the dealer.
