The costs and upkeep are a lot higher than a Toyota. There are no set costs, it will depend on how well it was taken care of, how many miles are on it and how your son drives it. Take a look at your local BMW shops hourly rate and have them inspect it before buying. This is why they say "if you have to ask, you can't afford it".
