I have another question about my 2001 Ford Escape the mechanic told me it's best to drive with the overdrive on but it seems like it runs smoother with it off I just want to know different opinions on it.

Leave it on. You'll get better fuel economy for one thing and less ware on the motor.

130129 miles fluids were all just changed on it and that leads me to another question why do I smell this kinda like a burning /burnt smell that's the best way I can explain it. I just got my truck back from the shop on Wednesday.
