Jim is right but it could be something as simple as the seat sensor.
That sucks but ok. Figured that would be the answer. Just sucks because ford already said it is out of warranty so I am SOL and need to pay for them to even diagnose. 30 months old and 6k over warranty you would think I paid 65k for a truck they would work with me a little. Feel like I already paid them enough!!
I would pressure them for a good will repair as this is a safety issue. Read your warranty as some items have longer warranty periods than others.
I agree F_O_R I had that in mind already but since they told me no already over the phone I am guessing they already said no.
I would call up Ford directly and make your case.
Well to update here since you said seat sensor. I looked and sure enough passenger seat had a baseball stuck under it and bent/broke a harness plug when my wife moved the seat forward. Took ball out and pushed harness back in and light will now turn off.... I doubt it stays nice and tight since the clip broke but maybe a ziptie will do the trick.
I have the same situation on my 2013. i did cram something under the drivers seat a few days ago. Guess I'll be checking that today! I do have an extended warranty if needed.
My air bag pops on while driving and stays on but I turn my truck off and it goes away .
