My car has been running rough after filling up the gas tank.

Asked by Joseph24martin Nov 25, 2015 at 08:01 PM about the 2008 Audi A4 2.0T quattro S-Line Sedan AWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

It's never done it before! It happened on
Monday after I filled up the car! Shut off
twice and then stayed on but was running
very rough for a minute. It happened the
same exact way today after I filled the tank
but this time I didn't fill it up to the top. First I
thought it was bad gas. But it isn't a
coincidence. I'm stuck, I can't figure it out?
Could it be a dirty fuel filter or the beginning
of a bad catalytic converter?

Bad fuel charcoil evaporator in your gas tank, that lets air in and when you put fuel in,it will over flow into it causing like a vapor lock on the fuel system causing bad running and low fuel pressure.

If you noticed it will run alright after a few minutes after fueling, but when you fuel it this happens.

Even if I have a brand new evap canister I still put fuel and the minute I start up the car and I'm leaving it hesitates and it dies off
