1991 Honda Civic DX died on the highway two nights ago. It was about 20 degrees out. It had been struggling to accelerate for about 10 miles, and I could barely keep it above 50 in a 65, and was forced to downshift repeatedly to keep the speed up. When I tried to restart it, it would just chug and not start. Oil levels were fine. Tried starting it for 30 min, and it started finally with my foot on the gas, but would die as soon as I eased off. The next morning, about 45 degrees F, it wouldn't even start, just chugchugchug... In the past 8 months, the plugs, wires, distributor rotor, alternator, main relay, ignition switch, and fuel filter have all been replaced. Tried jump starting it, but it didn't help. The various warning lights come on when I turn the key. I can hear the fuel pump cycle when I do so, and then a click under the dash, which I assume is a relay. But actually starting the car just results in chugging until I release the key. 7 Answers

About 3 weeks ago I went to start up my 2009 Honda Civic Sedan lx and lights came on and everything but wouldn't start. On the third time trying to start it none of the lights came on, so I changed the battery. I tried starting it with the new battery, all lights came on perfectly, but it wouldn't turn over. I changed the starter and the car ran fine with no problems for maybe 2 weeks. This morning I was driving down the road when the check engine light came on and the engine suddenly started to rev up uncontrollably. I was able to brake but it was very hard to do because the engine kept revving. Without my foot on the brake the car was going 30 something mph, when I braked and got below 15 I felt a hard downshift. Has anyone had these simliar problems or know what might have cause this kind of behavior? 3 Answers

1999 Honda CR-V will not start. I changed the fuel pump, fuel pressure regulator along with the fuel filter and the main relay but the vehicle still will not start. The distributor along with the coil was replaced about two months ago, spark is ok. Sometimes the vehicle start for a few second but the engine stalls as if the timming is off but the timing is ok, also sometimes it back fires and when it does the vacuum hose that is connected to the fuel pressure regulator comes off from the regulator. I check the injectors and they are getting power. I disconnected the exhaust thinking of the catalytic but still no start. Could it be the computer? Any help on this matter will be greatly appreciated. Thanks 8 Answers
