2005 new model Sonata has a ticking noise and a slight rattle at about 3500 rpm and on decelartion? Noise comes and goes. Valve lifters maybe?

Yes or it could be a sticky lifter try running marvel mystery oil or auto rx right before your next oil change and maybe a little seafoam for your injectors and see if it helps

Thanks. There is no noise if I keep under 2500rpm but the rattle comes back now at high revs and then on deceleration but not every time and only fir a few seconds . Have taken your advice for lifters and injectors thanks
