The headlights are really dim. Is this a light or battery issue?

Sounds like an alternator issue try starting it up and remove positive bat cable making sure not to let the cable touch anything if it dies it's alt

Good way to burn up your diodes an alternator by doing what the person says above you're better off using a voltmeter
