Ground Wires

Asked by GuruHWLC8 Dec 29, 2019 at 05:03 PM about the 2000 Ford Explorer XLT 4WD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Had the engine replaced in a 2000 ford explorer 4.0 V6  like 3 weeks ago and I don't think that they hooked up all the ground wires in the engine compartment because when you hit a bump some of the components in side the vehicle stop working and then all of a sudden they start working again that's what makes me believe that it is a ground wire ether not reinstalled or loose I just need to know were to look for them

What components stop working? Makes me wonder about ignition feed voltage, means the system goes hot with key on, so, feed to and from ignition switch. It could be a ground issue? Name a component, we'll try to look up wiring diagram for ground then you can run a redundant ground to see if it fixes that component. I've used redundant grounds before w/o any problems. Just my opinion.
