Over heating

Question type: Maintenance & Repair
I have a 2014 Hyundai Sonata and recently took off
the thermostat due to the vehicle overheating. (No
coolant at the time). I put coolant in and the temp
seems to go more then half way when the A/C is
on. What can be the cause of this? Fans are
working and don’t notice any water on ground so I
don’t think it’s the water pump.

Air in system. To bleed remove cap from overflow tank fill with antifreeze to full mark leave cap off and start vehicle and let idle once vehicle starts to reach operating temp thermostat starts to open and antifreeze in tank will drop add more antifreeze to full mark then put cap back on. Also you will notice antifreeze level will start to raise in tank before thermostat starts to open this is normal.
Ok thanx I will have to give that a try. Keep in mind there is no thermostat in my vehicle due to taking it out after the vehicle was overheating.
I have a 2012 sonata and I am having similar issues. But my water-pump was leaking. Put a new water pump in with no thermostat. Car still over heating but after about 1 hour of driving.
