Short, Somewhere

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

2000 ford ranger engine cranks and starts, radio turns on by itself during
starting when it was turned off before stopping truck when last operated.

Have run diagnostic test programs nothing identified as problem but starter,
removed but tested out ok. Battery, starter, operate and test as they should,
truck drives and operates as it should.

No work has been done on the truck in resent. Battery has just decided to
loss it's charge.

I have a short' somewhere any ideas? I've looked top to bottom

for about 30 bucks you can get an automotive electrical short detector from amazon. wonderful little tool to have in your box.
