Grinding/vibration

Asked by Ty Apr 26, 2019 at 10:54 PM about the 1998 Chevrolet C/K 1500 Silverado Extended Cab 4WD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 1998 k1500 silverado, when im cruising 45 to 65
mph, in od.. The rpms will move up maybe 200rpm, about
3seconds at a time, when it does go up, There's a grinding
type noise and some vibration straight under me..(its hard
to diagnose where accually the noise is coming from). If i
drive 70 mph there's no noise or under 45 there's no noise.
Seems right around the 1200 to 1500 rmp range. Does any
body have any ideas or if any one has seen a problem like
this? Im leaning more towards a torque converter issue
because of the studdering it does randomly sometimes.. i
replaced my ujoints and my rear axle oil is full. Im just
stumped on this one.
