Purge the cooling system of air pockets. The blower motor resistor controls the different speeds of the blower motor. If the resistor goes out, the blower motor does not work.
You can have what appears to be good flow through a heater core, but still no heat, because the blockage can be progressive, meaning water can flow in and through to the outlet easily in the first few rows, yet most of the core is blocked off so little heat exchange takes place. But assuming you have a good core, you have to check that the coolant flow from engine is good, that water pump isn't getting weak, and also check that the blend door is working. You should hear the little plastic flap moving when you cycle between hot and AC.
