Dodge Ram Warranty

Asked by Kim Jan 21, 2020 at 10:23 PM about the 2008 Dodge RAM 1500 Big Horn Quad Cab 4WD

Question type: General

'08 Dodge Ram with a Limited LIFETIME Powertrain warranty.  Have to get it
inspected every 5 years to keep warranty.  Inspected in 8/2013 & 12/2017
while it was at Dodge dealer for a repair.   Now Have issue that is covered by
the warranty but Dodge informed me there is no warranty.  Bottom line, the
last inspection was performed 6 months BEFORE it should have been.  They
said it needed to be done within 60 days of the 5th anniversary of the 8/13
inspection.  Going to fight this and would like input from anyone who sees
That I might be missing something.

1.  The dealer performed inspection and received compensation from
corporate.  Have receipt showing inspection was done.  Why did dealer do it
out of timeframe and why did corporate reimburse dealer?
2.  Dealer told us that we are good for 5 years
3.  We were Never notified by corporate that inspection is  due or in jeopardy
of expiring
4.  Corporate told me today, after half hour of trying to straighten out, that
they need to educate Authorized dealers of their policy but they are not
responsible for what individual dealers say or do with their customers

Corporate told me it's in owners manual and sure enough  is a sentence in
there stating their policy of inspection within 60 days of Anniversary.  We
weren't aware of it and since inspection was suppose to be good for another
5 years I would think I covered that period.

Besides putting in writing to Dodge Chrysler corporate are there other
agencies I should complain too?

The dealer should do your re inspection free or cheap since it was their mistake.
