Why is there a oil leak?

I have a leak coming from a bolt on the engine

did you check if it was loose or there is a crack there? I can't really tell , the photo is blurry.

The oil leak may well be coming from somewhere else and you only notice it at the bolt , clean thongs up and take another look . ( I left the typo I thought it was funny )

Is that more like a metal plug? Maybe the seal is bad or it is loose. You would have to remove the cylindrical part next to it to access. Try what chevy suggests and wipe it first and see if you can see where the oil is migrating from.
