The owners manual, if you have it, will show you how. At any rate on the side of each light, once the hood is opened, you will see an adjustment screw with a phillips head fitting on the top.

Put your car on a level driveway and if possible facing a white wall or garage door. Make sure there is no extra weight in the car or trunk. Once this is done, you can adjust the lights so they are even on the wall.

http://www.fosuvs.com/focont-529.html 3mm spot on center of each headlight assembly... measure that height from the ground. using that height measurement, take masking tape and make an 8 foot horizontal line on a wall or board at that height. position the front of the vehicle 25 feet from the tape line. for halogen, the top half of the outer half of the light beam should level with the bottom of the line. if not, open the hood, near the top of the head light assembly is an adjusting screw. Adjust the vertical position of the headlight by turning the adjustment screw clockwise or counterclockwise using a #2 Phillips screwdriver. it may be helpful to cover one headlight at a time to see the beam pattern more clearly. THERE IS NO HORIZONTAL ADJUSTMENT ON FORD EXPLORERS.
