what does check gauage mean

the light check gauge came on my jeep  grand cherokee

need a air filter fuel filter may need new plugs with somthing like that you never know if you do not think any thing is wrong if it drives fine i would not worry about it my car dose it all the time i can not find any thing wrong

when the check gauges light comes on look at your dash and see what gauge is not reading properly, either temp or oil gauge.

My 99 jeep cherokee sport started doing this the past week. The check gauges light comes on and the temp gauge goes to 250. I flip on the defroster on high heat right away and after a couple of seconds the temp gauge drops back down to 220. Could it be the fan not working. I have never had this problem with mine in the 10 years I have owned it. And it runs great other then that

Another gayge to check is to he battery meter. It should read between 13 to 15v if the gauge falls below 13 there is a fault in the charging system.

I see that my battery meter reading is low so this could be the problem that turn on the check gauge light.
