I have a 98 Cherokee. Temp runs normal but heater will not blow hot air. Any ideas?

check your coolant levels, also the diverter flap may be stuck, under the dash passenger side, its a vacum opperated unit, or heater core may be pluged
I now think the heater core is pluged. Do you know which hose on this jeep is the supply for the heater core, long or short hose? Checked under the dash night befor last, alls good there. Coolant and thermostat also good.
There should be two smaller diamater hoses. A supply and a return . With the vehicle at tempiture they should both be very warm to the toutch
How would you flush the core?
They make a garden hose adaptor you can get at your local auto parts store.
The core was stopped up. Simple and easy 15 min. Fix. No cost just a few min. Work.
What did you do to fix it?
Damn I wish he answered this question. I am having the same issue with same vehicle. I have fixed heater cores in my previous wranglers but never a Cherokee. I heard that it’s behind the dash and, I cant remember the # exactly, labor hours show something crazy like 3-5 hours!! Sounds ridiculous to me if it’s anything similar to a wrangler, which had it right behind the glove box. So already it’s a little different, I don’t understand why considering they’re almost mechanically identical other than few little difference. If anyone knows the process please let me know
