My 1998 Ford Explorer died on me while driving 25 mph down the road.
I believe I heard a slight pop in the engine when the car dies, but can't be positive. I pulled the car home, bought a new battery but didn't solve my problem. I have fuel, I have spark and there is no timing chain rattling up front. It continues to try and start but sill not. I have nothing on my TAC when I try to start the engine. I've heard everything from timing chain to crank shaft sensor to coil pack to Electronic control module??? Searching for answers before I waste a ton of money.
