2018 Impreza CVT Issues

Asked by Michael Mar 24, 2018 at 11:24 AM about the 2018 Subaru Impreza 2.0i Premium Hatchback AWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I bought a 2018 less than a week ago and the car jerks
when in gear and going from one gear to another (up or
down).  Is this normal or should I call the dealership to
have them take a look at it?

Use your warranty! Subaru CVT's are better than most CVT's but I would not own one.

How does it operate when you do NOT use the paddle shifters? If ok you may simply not quite understand how the semi-manual system works, in that it will ALWAYS be "jerky" compared to the fully-continuous auto-CVT mode.
