Doesn't this one have a transmission control module? needs to visit the mothership periodically?

guess '97 do not have them...just a guess TCM? got the ECM...only makes sense....how touchy these things are~

that's just a guess Jamie...Look for ye self what's the deal there...perhaps a vacuum line has come off or is cracked or bloated...always recommend Silicone hoses, like the cops use and what BMW uses too~

just pay attention to what's the transmission doing...Please check the level idling in neutral....fluid should be between the two hash marks...full cold and full hot....presumably~ note the smell and color too~

if the level is low, look to the rubber connectors to the radiator...a common failure point and cause for loss of fluid~
