disconnect both terminals. My car was dead yesterday and I used a jump starter to start it. It cranked up, ran for about 10 seconds and cut off. It wasn't doing nothing after that and the fuel gauge and tach didn't go back to zero. I disconnected the negative terminal and it fixed it. I had to charge the jump starter again. After the second attempt, I had to disconnect both terminals to get the tach and fuel to go back to zero and get the car to start again. In most vehicles, none of that would have been necessary because the alternator will power the car once it's started. The '06 Touring Turbo has a generator instead. Which means a dead or almost dead battery will make the car do weird things.
