1997 Explorer bad bearings, tire cords showing and "not much breaks"
I recently went to a shop to have them replace some spark plugs and a belt for me (I can do that
myself but don't have the tools since I moved from home.) When they finished they said I had a
bad wheel bearing on the font, that I had tire cords showing and that I didn't have much breaks.
Well I already knew about the breaks, they are DANGEROUS, as my pedal goes right to the floor
much of the time (this is a recent thing that just started about a week ago). I know it's not from the
break pads however as those are brand new. You all helped me with my problem last time I asked
something so I have come to you again. I would like to know, what does it mean? I have never
heard the term "tire cords" so I do not understand that. The bad wheel bearing I have a little more
info about but not much, and I really do not understand what they mean by "not much breaks"
though my ABS light comes on now and then and as I said they are going out. They didn't do a
full inspection but I plan on bringing it in asap to get an estimate and get this fixed, and I would
really just like to know what I am getting into, and if I understand a bit more about what they are
talking about I would feel more comfortable.
Thank you.
