Key release issue

I have a manual transmission 2004 Nissan
Altima. Over the last couple of months the
key has gotten more difficult to turn
counterclockwise to release and remove
from the ignition cylinder. Now it doesn’t
come out at all. A little oil helped for a day
or two earlier. This is a manual
transmission

Did you try a new key? If yes the next step is a new ignition lock cylinder

I have not tried a new key. Are you talking about a duplicate key? How do I get a “new” key?
