gas pedal feel weird

Asked by bodmasCCi Sep 23, 2016 at 12:43 PM about the 2004 Nissan Sentra 1.8 S

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My gas pedal started to feel like something was grinding against it these past few days. I had work done on the passenger side wheel (struts and suspension) could it be this? The grinding feeling comes from the right side of the wheel.

This is not going to cause the issues you are having there is something else that is making the noise. Bring it back and let them test drive it for you...

Your probably just feeling the grinding in the gas pedal as it's connected to the firewall, the whatever is causing it is affecting the whole car, but your too well-padded from feeling it accept at the gas (and likely brake) pedal. As you just replace the struts, check the sway links. The bushing goes out on those and they make a grinding, groaning type noise. They cost about $15 apiece. Otherwise take it back to the shop that did the work for an evaluation.

^^ and the above suggestion is assuming that the gas pedal itself is not worn at the hinge and just needing a shot of lithium grease or WD40.

It doesn't look (in the photo) like the threads of the suspension joint have been rubbing the axle shaft so I doubt that is the cause. The noise could be a number of things. I would take it back to the shop that did the repairs and ask them to look into it.

When driving my 2013 Nissan Sentra hitting the accelerator driving and it does go but it tend to drop mileage when hitting accelerator it seems like it don't want to go you hit it then you hit it another time and then it goes
