We need a lot more than that please. Mileage? Crank over and try.....or no turn over.....any lights? By lights I mean any power, do the warning lights on dash come on when key is turned to ON? Age of battery. History of anything being done to it.
All the lights come in the car. 112k miles when I jump it it comes right on take the cables off then the car cuts off again rencently put a new alternator in
I have to go for an hour or so but will research this then...unless somebody has an answer before I get back. check back
For starters check all alternator elect connections. Also check battery voltage(12 volts or more). If not have battery fully charged and also make sure that the terminals are clean and tight. Also check the negative battery cable where it attaches to the frame and motor. These should also be clean and tight.
How do you check the negative battery cable on the frame in motor
Hey, my man! Good to see ya dude. Now, tay123, he's definitely right, on all counts. It's electrical. You car was running off the other cars juice. Since the alternator is new, and after you do what dandyoun recommends, check these fuses. Click for full screen
One way to test that is take a jumper cable and put one end on the black Neg--battery post. Clip the other end to a good ground on the chassis or frame. If that starts it, you have diagnosed the ground as bad, not making a connection, Follow the black wire from Neg side of battery to wherever it goes. Must have a clean, tight connection
