heater only gets warm

have a 97 taurus 3.0 gl that only gives cool to warm heat after replacing the thermo to a 195
deg back flushing the heater core and also verified the actuator door movement and the inlet
and outlet heater core hoses that are very hot, all is well, now im only getting 80 to 85 deg air
from the vents. if I have over looked something PLEASE let me know and yall have a Blessed

Back in Wisconsin, we'd use the 'pizza box' solution, covering up the radiator to make it heat more...you may have noticed flaps on the front of 18 wheelers for this purpose. Cardboard. yeah, 2 cent solution, but works. get a higher temperature t-stat would be my advise. thanks and gazunteit.
