I would Check timing and also insure that plugs wires were installed on proper plugs. Hope this helps
double checked wires to plugs also changed coils and rechecked wiring again, i am sure the timing belt is placed right [i turn the motor over five times by hand and the marks lined up every time. there is no timing adjustmentfor this motor according to the repair manual. any other ideas.
Sorry but it Sure sounds like a timing issue. Have you checked timing with timing light?
how do you do that on this 1996 4 cyl. engine.? there is no way to adjust timimg ,the computer advances the timimg as per the crankshaft position sensor, throttle position sensor,,and others, all not adjustable. i am glad that you are trying to help i can not afford to take to a garage [ out of work] this truck will help me if i can get it to run better.
Sorry that is not the motor I familiar with. Thought is was another one. Called a friend that owns a shop and he said it sounds like you might be a tooth or two off with the timing belt. Sorry I could not help. Good luck
Worked all day on mine and have the same problem. no torque & no power. The timing is exactly spot on. Going to check throttle opening tomorrow AND heard that the 02 sensor fuse could be blown. It's a mystery. Ford could NEVER have sold a dog like this. Can barely climb my driveway. I am always open to suggestions. Thanks bloggers!
