My Heater

Asked by Justin Dec 29, 2017 at 09:00 AM about the 2006 Pontiac G6 Base V6

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 2006 G6. My heater has stopped coming on. i know the blower motor
works cause i tested it. It seems like the Heater control is getting no power to it.
when i hit on the side or go over a big bump the heater kick on like there is a
short. Is there any other reason that the heater would be doing this? All the
fuses are good too.

On the floor under the glove box is the resistor pack ... It's at the firewall and you will see it if you pull the carpet back about 6 inches ... that's the connections going to the motor ,,check it there .. maybe the resistor pack itself is bad but they normally only blow out causing you to lose 1 speed ,,so check there first ... BTW .. Ebay has that resistor pack for around $30

I have to tap on that black fuse hard to get it to come on and it only works if speed 4. I have even replaced the fuse...

Sorry I was wrong (I was thinking Grand Prix) Go here to look at video ~~ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CQwvIMIlJRA (the 05-06 are the same) .. You can find the resistor here or perhaps the bad connect too ((( https://www.amazon.com/ACDelco-15-80878-Equipment-Auxiliary- Conditioning/dp/B000S2U604/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1516412844&sr=8- 1&keywords=Pontiac+g6+resistor
