Why does my car make a noise when the ac tries to click on. It sounds like something wants to click on but it clicks back off,

The AC system is probably low on 134a and it is tripping off on the low pressure switch. Have the system checked for charge or if you are a do it DIY'er, auto parts stores sell cans of 134a.The vehicle being 10 years old, it is common for seals to go bad and the AC system to lose charge.

That is the A.C clutch clicking on and off. Need to add more freon until clicking stops.
