2002 Pontiac sunfire put in new alternator car runs great but when I take it out of park I lose gas gage, speedometer odometer comes up error dashboard goes out

I hope you removed the battery cable end when you replaced the alternator..if not..may have shorted out something.. Could try removing the negative cable end and leave it off for 30 mins or so may reset the computer and the new alternator might be throwing an electrical code until it's reset. Final thing you may have to do is get someone to put a code reader on..see if it's showing a code..hopefully not an pcm or ecm code Good luck
