on my 1999 3.8l firebird, i notice a ticking sound on acceleration mostly, that sounds like no oil/poor rocker-tappet clearance issues of yesteryear. what could be the issue here?

127k, oil good, chk engine light on, no past issues

I had the same problem and what it is is poor octane gas once I put clean gas in there and the old stuff burned out the noise stopped that's what you should try to do put good gas in there run super in there for a while see what happens and stop going to cheap gas stations that was my mistake
