06 saturn ion with 2.2L Shifting at really high rpms =(

Asked by Matthew Sep 10, 2015 at 05:25 PM about the 2006 Saturn ION 3 Sedan

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Started doing it this morning. It only has 105k miles. First and second gear
seems normal shifting around 3-4000 but after shifts around 5-6000 having to
feather the throttle sometimes to get it to shift ... I haven't drove it hard and
even ease off the throttle when it shifts. Not that great with transmissions so
any ideas on what it could be would be much appreciated

Take a look at the shift solenoid....

A shifter could be stuck in intermediate or sport mode. Is an eye on the shifter sometimes it goes a little too far back and click in.
