In Canada, Volkswagen has two tiers in its certified pre-owned vehicle program (CPO). To qualify for Volkswagen Canada’s CPO Assurance program, Volkswagen cars or SUVs must:
- Be from within the last 7 model years
- Have fewer than 160,000 kilometres on the odometer
To qualify for Volkswagen Canada’s CPO Assurance Premium program, a vehicle must:
- Be from within the last 5 model years
- Have fewer than 120,000 kilometres on the odometer
In either case, Volkswagen CPO vehicles are required to pass a 112-point inspection by a Volkswagen dealer that includes a mechanical examination, test drive, and cosmetic appearance check.
Warranty
Volkswagen certified pre-owned vehicles are sold with the remainder of the 4-year, 80,000-kilometre new vehicle limited warranty and the 5-year, 100,000-kilometre limited powertrain warranty. Vehicles that are less than 5 years old or have fewer than 120,000 kilometres on the odometer qualify for extended warranty coverage that adds an additional 2 years or 40,000 kilometres for an additional cost.

Roadside Assistance
Different levels of roadside assistance coverage are offered on used Volkswagen CPO vehicles in Canada.
Under the CPO Assurance program, Volkswagen CPO vehicles are covered with 24-hour roadside assistance for 6 months from the date of purchase. Under the CPO Assurance Premium program, 24-hour roadside assistance is provided for 2 years from the date of purchase. In either case, this service includes: towing to the Volkswagen dealership of the owner’s choice within 50 kilometres; battery jump starts; flat tire service; lockout service; fuel delivery service; and emergency winching service.
Vehicle History Report
Every certified pre-owned Volkswagen vehicle comes with a complimentary Carfax vehicle history report.
Subscriptions
Volkswagen models sold under the CPO program includes a 3-month trial subscription to SiriusXM satellite radio.
Special Financing Rates
Volkswagen CPO buyers are eligible for special financing rates, at times as low as 0.9%.
