Ford F-450 Super Duty (2008 - 2010) Reviews, Pricing & Specs

The 6.4 l diesel engine is problematic at best it was only made from 2008 to 2010 and answer to the problem child 6.0 l. If it had a 6.7 l or 7.3 l in it I would have bought it right then and there. The 6.4 l when it has any major engine problems its a cab off repair thus escalating the cost. The Pistons are poorly designed when they get up in age and mileage they have a tendency to crack requiring a major rebuilt. So I personally Im staying away from any Ford product with the 6.0 l or a 6.4 l. Other than that I love the Ford trucksMar 11, 2023

Can't believe how wonderful this new F450 is. I received it on Oct 27 2010 and attached it to a 16000 lb trailer and drove 3000 miles. It worked great. And than I drove locally for a few months and than attached the trailer again and drove from Florida out to Arizona. Wow. Did it ever go up and down those hills great. And it is fun to drive, every time I drive it. I have only good/great things to say about the truck overall. This includes the appearance, style, handling and performance. As to MilesPerGal it did what I expected. I got around 8 1/2 generally while pulling the trailer and down as low as 5 mpgs when driving into the wind and going up 19 deg hills. Otherwise I was happy with the 8 1/2 and better and without the trailer it was up to nearly 16 miles per gal. But when I get more than 3000 miles on the truck I am sure the mileage will improve. So now I can only praise this truck overall and with the 4:30 rearEnd it sure can pull a trailer. May 04, 2010

just look at the monster truck. not street legal but there is no chance for a cop to mess with you. the base truck cost 50 thousand and with all the mods it was another 100 thousand. it will go over all rocks and can easily go through 6 foot deep mud pits. the engine is a custom built v10 twin turbo diesel putting the truck at just over 800 horsepower. the truck has on it a 18 inch lift kid with 10 inch air bags and 40 inch tires in the front and 45 inches in the back. over all its one bad ass truck.Feb 24, 2010

Great work truck, pulls a ton better than the 02' 350. The automatic shift while towing in cruise is a surprising bonus - this would sound amazing with stacks ;) Just waiting for the perfection of removing the afterburner junk. Handles and accelerates well. Payments on the high side - gas milage was terrible for first 8k km but is slowly coming down to roughly 23k/100l pulling a full load. Dissapointed that you can not get the king ranch in one solid colour and you even have to pay an extra 300+ on the sticker price for the ugly beige trim. Tires are massive at 19.5inches - though the chip for the newer models promises it can recalibrate speed with smaller tire size.Jul 28, 2008
