We own 2 of these. One is the limited and the other is the all wheel drive. Over 150,000 on each and really just general maintenance issues so far with each. The clear coat is peeling and fading on the rear valance of each and the shocks and struts need to be replaced at this age. We have taken our limited everywhere including Texas, Colorado, North Carolina, Maryland, West Virginia, and more. Very good for families or dog owners and flexible with the third row seating. No major issues with either one so far!Jul 16, 2024

I really love my Toyota Highlander. It was so well taken care of by the previous owner. The only sad thing is that it doesnt have bluetooth for music. But other then that its great!!! I think it was a good value for the price for sure.Feb 15, 2023

This is a base model Highlander, so I didnt expect any options or upgrades. The car is a good value for the price. Cant go wrong with a Toyota. Similar vehicles would might be the Chevy Equinox or Nissan Rogue.Sep 29, 2022

This car is very nice, has plenty of room, great gas mileage. It has been my dream car for over ten years now and it was definitely worth the wait. I recommend a toyota highlander and any toyota to anyone. I did have a toyota yaris before we traded it in for the highlander and I drove the yaris for 6 or 7 years. Toyota vehicles will last a long time as long the maintenance is maintained on them. Feb 27, 2022

More luxury than I wanted! I selected this Toyota Highlander because of its road worthiness and low cost to maintain. My last Highlander had 310k mi on it before I totaled it in a wreck. Apr 22, 2021

All around if you have a larger family you can't go wrong with the 2008 highlander. Easy to drive. Safe with the side curtain air bags. Plenty of power. Good MPG. Lots of interior seating space. Stow and go walk through seating keeps the kids off the 2nd row of seats and if you need more seating just pull out the other seat. Use Synthetic oil and you will have it for years. I have a hitch attachment that I can put on for long trips that add storage if needed. All around Excellent SUV.Apr 14, 2014

The 2010 Highlander is a decent car when you want something big, but not as big as a Suburban or a Expedition. It drives ok, and handles fine in all weather. Not a huge fan of the looks on the inside though. I wish Toyota kept the different colored trim inside the Highlanders as they did with the 2001-2007 year Highlanders. Still a great car though with tons of space and great safety ratings.May 26, 2013

It is my dream car. Fun to drive, passengers love it too because its comfortable and has individual heated seats and back row controls for heat and ac. The styling is fantastic, it is a great looking car inside and out. I live in Illinois and it handles all the horrible weather we get. Wondergul handling, killer sound system, I love, love, love my Highlander!Nov 16, 2011

We have owned for nearly one month in Anchorage Alaska and have
replaced the stock tires with Bridgestone Blizzak tires. Traction and
handling on ice and snow for the 4wd is amazing. I can't speak to the
stock tires as they were only on the vehicle for 1 day. Interior noise is
very low with the engine barely audible even at high rpm. We only make
short trips from the house and it is all in town driving. Our MPG is 17
with nearly 500 miles on the vehicle. I understand that improves as the
you surpass 1500 miles on the odometer. Expecting 19 city and 25-26
highway. Fit and finish is OK and could be improved. We have the
limited with leather. Quality of the leather is great and heated
seats are very nice on the cold mornings. Previous SUV was a
BMW X5 where fit and finish was very good. Acceleration and passing
ability are excellent, surpassing the BMW x5 (3.0) by a wide margin.
Power is there when you want it instantly! Contrary to many of the
reviews, this car IS fun to drive and comfortable too. Just a notch below
the BMW x5 and much more useful.
Comfort of the seats is good with excellent ride on all surfaces. Speed
bumps can be taken at 20 mph without exciting the suspension. Anti-
lock brakes and VSC (Stability control) work very well and add
considerable safety and confidence for those slick icy days. Overall we
love the vehicle and it is typical Toyota quality and refinement. The
Highlander is sourced and built in America by Americans with a majority
of the parts being made here. Engines however, are shipped from Japan.Nov 09, 2011

Excellent family vehicle. Acceleration on the base V6 was great, quality was excellent, no issues to date. Great looking appearance, much improved over the previous models. Gas mileage was pretty good given the size of the vehicle. Love the features (moonroof, 6 CD changer, captains chair configuration capability of the middle row seating, 3rd row optional seating configuration, rear air.Mar 01, 2011

Great vehicle. Roomy, built well, good pickup and great new shape. Good mileage, well though out layout, seats fit good, all the features needed for a non-minivan family.Aug 23, 2009

Truly the most awesome vehicle I have owned. Solidly built and it glides on the road. And of course inside, all the bells & whistles make driving/riding an even nicer experience. You sit high to see everything on the road, lots of room shoulder to shoulder and front to back. There can't be anything else on the market even close in the same price range.Aug 18, 2009

This car is amazing over all. It has excellent performance in the city, on the highways and off road on the snow. The sport model gives this car a very sleek, sporty look to it, featuring nice 19" alloy wheels. Inside, the very coiol JBL 6 speaker plus subwoofer sound system gives this car some rythm. Its built well inside, has plenty of cargo room. Sitting in it fells spacious in the front & back. The sunroof, and the bluetooth system is also nice to have.Dec 30, 2008

What a vehicle. It drives beautifully. Steering is crisp, with plenty of power in Limited. Navigation is cool and entertaining, although somewhat difficult to follow with all the buttons. Nicest features are the backup screen, power lift on rear door, JBL speakers, leather heated seats, comfortable ride and ease of access to front and back seats. Also, plenty of storage with collapsible third row of seats.Jan 10, 2008
