2015 Sonata Hybrid just turned 385000k - its built like a tank. Really only had to replace a water pump and timing belt, but the hybrid battery has gone way past life expectancyJul 27, 2024

I currently own this model and year and I will say the only thing that’s good about this vehicle is the Hybrid option because it save a bit of gas, the interior is not leather which is not good, it also does not have a charger port for anyone that sits in your back seat, it’s also not spacious inside.Jul 20, 2022

I like the overall style of the car! Very roomy!! Makes me wonder why I had not gotten one sooner! Great deal value. I only wish it had CarPlay technology, but still the Bluetooth works great for hands free driving! Lots of storage spots!!Apr 27, 2022

I think it’s a great car for the money. A lot of features, rides well, comfortable and spacious. The transition from electric to gas mode is a little choppy, but that’s just nitpicking.Jun 08, 2021

This is a fully loaded model. Probably the Limited model. Has plenty of features. Leather interior. Panorama moon and sunroof. Push to start. Bright blue dash lights. Hybrid. Decent trunk space. Smooth ride. Back up camera. Very roomy backseat. Plenty of leg space.Sep 28, 2020

Quiet, comfortable and full of standard features other car manufacturers lnclude as options. Very expensive to repair if you get into an accident. Most insurance company just total the car. Loses value very quickly. Otherwise a fun car to drive.Aug 03, 2020

In the end, not the best family car when you have multiple kids. If you were a couple without children, maybe retired or younger this would be a great car. Speedy, good looking, and has great gas mileage. Lacking in a few tech areas that you see in the non-hybrid version.Apr 30, 2015

We love it and have no issues with it at all. Great car.Roomy enough for us - 3 kids w/2 in car seats - great fuel economy. Looks sharp and handles great. Trunk has lots of room. Nav/radio/Bluetooth/phone connection all work well and are user friendly. One side benefit is that we find we have changed our driving habits in a good way as a consequence of trying to get the mpg gauge as high as we can.Apr 03, 2015

Great on Gas about 600 Miles to the tank. This car will save you money each month in the fuel it saves. I believe the Hybrid technology makes this cars life very long due to the gas and electric engines sharing the work load of everyday travel.Sep 28, 2014

Trunk space is bit less , braking is fine and you feel safe in the car. The car is fun to drive. The car's acceleration is not awesome but pretty good but that is what is expected out of an hybrid.May 10, 2014

I love the beautiful lines of the car, the panoramic sun roof, the color. Complete strangers come up to me in parking lots, even men and tell me how beautiful the car is, especially the color. The interior is spacious and really comfortable, even the back seats. The problems are with braking and acceleration from a stop. The braking is jerky and there is a grinding, squeaking sound when the weather is really damp or rainy. That goes away after a few minutes, but it shouldn't happen at all. The acceleration from a stop, especially after the car has been sitting for a while in the garage or in a parking lot, is jerky. i understand from other reviews that this is a common problem with the hybrid and has to do with the engine struggling to be in hybrid mode or in gas mode. Again, this problem goes away after a few minutes. The ride on freeway or highway is incredibly smooth - just luxurious. The fuel economy is not what Hyundai stated that it was when the car first came out. Hyundai has acknowledged this problem and even is reimbursing owners for gas costs differences from what was advertised.Jan 25, 2014

This is a great car for the price. Has all of the features (and more) of a luxury vehicle but for 1/2 the price. Good looks, styling, handling, gas mileage, etc. I would purchase this car again (and am thinking about getting the Elantra for my daughter).Dec 30, 2013

I have had my 2012 Hyundai Sonata Hybrid for one month, and I have not experienced any of the jerkiness that I have read in other reviews. I am 6'3" and rode comfortably in the back seat as we traveled for Thanksgiving. Regarding MPG and cost savings, I formerly had a Lincoln Town Car. On our Thanksgiving trip, I saved $106.59 in gas over what I would have paid in the Lincoln, and acheived 42.7 MPG on the highway versus 20 MPG in the Lincoln. For the month, I have saved $259.89 in gas between the two vehicles. I am thrilled with my Sonata!! I am three time Lincoln owner, but I think I have found a car that will make me forget about Lincoln!! Thank you Hyundai for an incredible car, ride, saving and comforts!!!Dec 19, 2013

it is not a car for very short runs. it was designed for highway driving and not for short city driving runs. that is why it has a better highway mpg rating over the city rating. when we got it it was rated for 35 city 40 highway hyundai has since lowered it to 34 city and 39 highway.May 19, 2013
