Out of state purchases

So if I buy a vehicle out of the state I live in
would I be required to pay taxes in my state
once I got the vehicle

First, I hope you see and inspect the vehicle before purchase. If not, you're really asking for trouble... As for taxes & fees. When you buy in another state, you just drive the car home, or have it shipped. There's nothing else to be done in that state. When you register the car in your state, all fees and taxes will be assessed there. You could contact your DMV for actual instructions.
