1999 mercury cougar

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I've replaced the core pack, the crank shaft sensor,
rebuilt starter and alternator,  replaced the fuEl
pump and fuel filter, it'll turn over but wont start.
What else could be wrong and what else do I have
to do...this was my son's FIRST car and I'm trying
to get it ready for him...HE'S A UNITED STATES
ARMY SOILDER...please help

Test for spark fuel and compression. Could be wiring to something you changed. It is not always the sensor but the wiring going to the part.

Don't forget about uh t the the fuel pump driver module. I just did a crank shaft seal job on my 99 cougar, and mine won't start. It cranks but won't start, only when I spray a little bit of starter fluid for a few seconds. Replaced the fuel f UK lter now I am tracking the fuel lines and testing g my module Tom ou rrow.
