2001 pontiac grand am

car overheats when its driven. i let the car ideal for 20 min. and the temperature
fluctuates between 200 and 210 degrees. the fans are not turning on. what do i need to
replace to get the fans to kick on?

check your coolant level.... the coolant temp sensor sendds the signal for the pcm to turn on the cooling fans.... try to turn on your air conditioning fans should turn on then but just to see if the work. It will overheat faster with the air on.
