These are trim levels, the difference is in packages which is related to the grade value.

They are not trim levels, they are completely different models, while they are both mid sized luxury sedans, the GS is 3 times more luxurious than the ES, and also gets its own F model, while the ES is pretty cheap and kinda slow, but still pretty nice. That’s basically the differences in a nutshell, having owned an ES and currently a GS F
