after a few months of driving it that way my tranny started
to act up to where it was making a rough transition from
second to third gears without out making it to fourth or fifth
gears to the point as to where  now it won't got over 45
without red lining the rpm gauge it will only go into reverse
when cold as well it acts much better cold but when it
warms there's no cooperation from the tranny at all can any
one help I'm sure if more descriptive info is needed I can
provide it

Your transmission is in limp mode putting full trans fluid pressure on. Internals chances are the code which is in the computer because the over drive light is on is most definitely a slip code and put in limp mode. A diagnostic scanner needs to be vonnected to your vehicle and checked for the code s read out. Im going to let you know this because i own fords when that light came on with me it was time for the transmission to be replaced.
