Not starting

Hi! First, even though it turns over, check how much juice you have left in your battery. If your battery has juice but it is "low," Starter Motors may NOT engage fully. If your battery is low, consider charging it or replacing it. Since you have to give it a little gas, it sounds like you have a low or rough idle. This is usually due to bad spark plugs, ignition coils, and/or ignition coil harnesses. When was the last time you replaced the spark plugs? Try taking out the ignition coils and inspect them for any white or orange coloring on the bottom tips, this means those coils are bad and need to be replaced. Bad spark plugs will have black or orange soot on the white tips and on the pin as well. If its not the battery, plugs, coils, or coil harness, I would start to look at your Mass Air Flow Sensor (MAF) and clean it with MAF Cleaner (1-2 quick sprays). That could be clogged and is making your engine struggle to know how much air is being regulated at idle (since I'm assuming that's when the engine "quickly dies" like you're saying). Finally, as an extra step, check your engine air filter and intake to make sure there isn't anything strange in there or if the filter is overly dirty.
