Truck won't start.

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Ford F150 2001
Truck was running fine all day Friday.
Went to leave later in the evening and
it wouldn't start. Jumped it and it
started. Turned it off 30 minutes later
and it wouldn't start again. Tried to
jump it again and it wouldn't start. It
does start if I cross the solenoid.
Battery is good. Solenoid is good
(replaced it thinking it was the
problem) Starter is good. Alternator is
good. Lights don't dim when I turn the
key. Could it be the ignition switch?
There's also aftermarket fog lights
installed and I noticed the wiring was
really hot to the touch. Could it have
caused a short somewhere? I'm not
super car savvy so any suggestions
are appreciated.

I decided to leave it until morning but I had to run an errand so I went to start it by using the solenoid and now nothing happens except a short purring/whirring noise? When I touch the solenoid there aren't even sparks anymore.

OK now for my super dumb question. I was looking at the wiring harness for the fog lights and while even I can tell whoever did it wasn't an expert I can't tell where to unhook them at. Is there something I should look for? I just see a lot of electrical tape and I notice that, what I'm guessing is the positive cable(thick and red), is disconnected.
