If you have to tap on anything to get it to work then part is going bad and needs to be replaced.

Loose connector or harness issue. What are you taping the fans, they rarely go bad unless its an extremely high mileage vehicle.
What part of the Fan/Fans are you tapping on? Do you have 2 Cooling Fans....and.....does tapping on both get them both to function?

Yes two fans if i turn the ac on the radiator fan would turn on only. But now i was mad and hit both motors on both fans and they turn on i was like cool. Now i have to spin radiator fan backwards just a bit and it starts.i drove my car today for 30 min it was fine i drove aeound city only yesterday i drove up and down ny block for 30 minutes he got really hot again. Like i said no water pump leaks that i can see i have 130000 miles
OK...now we have to find someone with some knowledge and experience in fixing cars. I would be inclined to check the fans first. I would disconnect one at a time and use two fused jumper wires...and "hot wire" the fan directly off the battery. I would do this to both fans ...one at a time. I would observe how fast the fan starts up and runs. If the fans start up and run well....The fans are good .I would then find a wiring diagram of the Fans Circuit. That is where I would use a Volt/Ohm Meter to check the circuit out.. I seem to remember several Temperature Control Switches in the circuit. See if you have something sticking out of the Radiator with 2 wires coming out of it. Disconnect that sensor and see if both fans stat up and run.
Ccrew....did you ever find a fix for your Fan problem?
