2006 Buick LuCerne

Asked by GuruBYBM8 Dec 13, 2018 at 06:06 PM about the 2006 Buick Lucerne V6 CXL FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

In March I took the car in for a radiator flush, new hoses and thermostat. Since then it's been back 7 times for a recurring SES light with the P0128 error code. The last time they said it was a  now a pcm module problem. A friend and myself installed this module. Again after a month the SES light came on.
Do you have any suggestions or idea what might be causing this error. It was not there before the routine maintenance work. Thanks

Perhaps engine coolant sensor issue? Really would have to verify there are no drop outs on a scope reading during warm up. Would make sure all your connections are secure too. Wondering how they decided there was a PCM malfunction? oh well, Good Luck!

Thank you Brian. I think the pcm issue was their attempt at profitability. The temp holds at the center of the gauge. I'll have coolant sensor checked. Good read on checking connections...the last time we noticed the dealer failed to reinstall a connection to the MAF and the transmission shifted hard until we simply plugged this back in!
