Question type: Maintenance & Repair
2000 Buick started making a knocking noise under
the hood. Picked my kid up from school and it died
on the way home. Starts up but spews white
smoke from tail pipe and dies when going into gear.

have a chemical block test dome. White smoke from the tail pipe could be blown head gasket
I used some K- Seal today and was able to move it about 20 yards. After running it for about 15 mins the smoke died down and the knocking got softer. Checked the oil again and its completely dry.

I would do a blow by test sounds like oil is entering the combustion chamber due to a broken compression ring or piston. The oil isn't leaking out of the engine on to the ground or on the engine? so this will tell you if compression is lost in one of the cylinders. Unfortunately it sounds like a new engine is needed . Have you ever changed the pcv valve?
